Canggu Guide

Canggu

I love Canggu. I first visited this part of Bali YEEEEAAAARRRSSS ago. There was hardly any bars, we lived in a little villa about 5 minutes walk from the beach and it was just so quiet and peaceful. So when I heard that Canggu was now a party central, I HAD to go see it for myself.

We stayed at this gorgeous homestay run by the nicest man and his family. Berawa Beach Surf Stay. I would highly recommend this place! Just a stone throw away from the beach and Finn’s beach club. Absolutely stunning, two stories which meant not too many rooms and people around, two pools and a little rooftop.

So the cool thing about Canggu is the small number of bars they have. Every night, each of these bars take turns opening and holding a party. So literally, everyone goes to the same place every night. So chances are, you’re gonna bump into the same people tomorrow night or the night after. Monday nights are the only day in the week that none of these places hold a party. Everyone (and their livers!) needs a break!

Most people go to Canggu to surf, but we lack that sort of coordination so we spent a lot of time lying on the beach, under the sun, with a cold beer.

We were supposed to only spend 5 days here before heading back to ubud but we couldn’t leave! The beach kept calling out for us so we ended up spending a week here instead.

Vegetarian & vegan food were everywhere so my tummy was happy! The entire place was filled with good vibes, so my soul was happy too! Already missing the place.
